42nd Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival Barcelona

Once again the Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival Barcelona has taken place, which has reached its 42nd edition due to its popularity with jazz lovers.

The festival, which still has the same energy as 40 years ago, combined established jazz, blues and swing artists with up and coming ones.

There was a line up of over 40 artists, which included Kenny Garret Quartet, Micah P. Hinson & Centro-matic, Marlango, Gonzalo Rubalcaba Quintet, Chucho Valdés & The Afro Cuban Messengers, Richard Galliano Sextet, David Sanborn Trio, Jamie Cullum, Omar Sosa and Buika.

One of the best moments of the Festival was Chick Corea’s performance at a sold out Palau de la Música. This was a piano concert where the artist played a Yamaha CFIIIS, the ‘crowing glory’ of the Yamaha line, rented from Call & Play.
