Chick Corea & The Spanish Heart Band on tour in 2019 stopped on July 24 at the 53th Almería Flamenco Festival. Organized by the Culture and Education Area of the Almería City Council, the festival, that filled the month of July with flamenco, closed the edition with a two-hour concert performed by the North-American artist.
Chick Corea, who has been nominated artist of the year three times during the last decade, presented his new band composed of eight musicians: Jorge Pardo, original member of the Paco de Lucía sextet, with saxophone and flutes, as well as masters Michael Rodríguez, Steve Davis, Niño Josele, Carlitos del Puerto, Marcus Gilmore, Luisito Quintero and dancer Nino de los Reyes.
Call & Play brought the Yamaha CFX grand piano to the Almería bullring, which Chick Corea had already played with in previous years. A real pleasure to meet this great musician and composer again.
