On the 50th anniversary of the creation of the legendary Afro-Cuban jazz band Irakere, Chucho Valdés (piano) and Arturo Sandoval (trumpet) revive the songs that fused jazz, rock, funk, popular Cuban rhythms and classical music.
One of the stages of their tour has taken them to Sea Jazz Estartit, a festival that was born in 2014 when two great passions came together: jazz and the Mediterranean Sea. The Cuban pianist showed that at 82 years old you can be full of life and still be passionate about your work.
Call & Play has been the backline provider for the festival, as well as the Bösendorfer D-274 piano for Chucho Valdés on July 27, for Elisabeth Raspall and Artemis on July 26 and for Emmet Cohen Trio on July 28.
